Dear Public School Teachers, my Heroes:

Thank you for all of your Peacock applications and the uniqueness of your responses. Due to the current conditions that – at a minimum – point to an 18-to-36-month delay until the next national teacher conventions, it has been unanimously decided to distribute 100 percent of the net proceeds (versus the original 55 percent) immediately in amounts of $100 per award. It is our hope that this will help with whatever professional development or supplies you require.

Thank you for all that you do when no one is looking.

Affectionately Yours,
The Peacock

Let The Peacock Fly Scholarship

Application Criteria: Iowa public school teachers, teaching 7-12 grade, and also coaching or supervising an extracurricular activity for your school.
Let the Peacock fly Scholarship: airfare, lodging, and tuition to attend a national conference of your choosing.

Dear Teachers, Coaches, & Supervisors,
No teacher receives the accolades they deserve. It’s not right or fair, it just simply is, and while the old adage states, “…the reward for a good deed is to have done it…”, it sometimes falls short. There was a time, long ago, when the profession of teaching was considered the most noble and highest calling in society. It was as if there existed a heightened awareness, that without our youth, their education, and development, there was no future. I believe that we will someday return to this belief for in the end, it is axiomatic; the quality of our youth development determines the quality of our future.
Allow me, and countless unknown others, to thank you teachers, coaches, and supervisors, for caring beyond that which was required on a daily, weekly, monthly, yearly, and decades basis, and for your commitment, and the vigilance required, to continually mold, guide, inspire, and ignite the imagination and joy for learning in our youth. It is a lifetime gift.
By attending a national conference of your choosing, it is our hope that you will be able to share, learn, and participate in new ideas and ways of learning that promote youth development in the State of Iowa.
I invite you to apply and thank you for all that you do when no one is looking. May you find the best in all things and please remember to, “let the Peacock fly”.
